Get to Know Our President, VPs and General Manager
Every year, KAP's President and two Vice Presidents are elected at the organization's annual meeting. The General Manager is responsible for all of the day-to-day activities of the KAP office. This group of four makes up KAP's management team.

Ian Wishart, President Ian Wishart operates Agasea Farms near Portage la Prairie with his wife Leslie. Ian is currently serving his third term as President. Previously, he served four years as KAP's Vice President. He has been involved with KAP's Business Risk Management and Assessment andTaxation committees. Ian is the driving force behind Alternative Land Use Services (ALUS), a conservation program that puts the emphasis on farmers' contributions to the environment, which launched as a pilot project in Manitoba in 2005. The Wisharts' farm is split between forages, specialty crops, and potatoes, with a 200 head cow/calf operation. Ian and his wife Leslie have two daughters, Rhainan and CJ. |

Rob Brunel, Vice President Rob Brunel, his wife Erin, their daughter Myley and son Larsen live in Ste. Rose du Lac, where they operate a fourth-generation grains and oilseeds farm. Rob was elected to his third term as Vice President at KAP's 2010 annual meeting. Rob currently co-chairs KAP's young farmers committee and has worked on the Environment and Sustainable Development and Grains, Oilseeds and Pulses committees. He has served
on the executive on the Canadian Young Farmers Forum and remains active
in programming for young farmers. |

Doug Chorney, Vice President Doug Chorney is a producer from East Selkirk, where he lives with his wife Michelle and daughter Erin. Cereal, oilseed and forage seed crops make up most of the 1500 acres on his farm, however, Doug also grows and sells fresh vegetables right off the farm. Doug has served as chair of the Workplace and Employment Committee and the Rural Development and Land Use Committee. Doug believes that new opportunities for producers to be part of the energy economy will help drive farm profitability in the future. Doug holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Manitoba and has worked in the resource and aerospace industries prior to coming back to the family farm full time 17 years ago. |

Yvonne Rideout, General Manager Yvonne Rideout joined KAP as the General Manager in 2000. She began her career in agricultural policy in 1991, and has participated on the provincial and national scenes since that time. Yvonne has had the opportunity to participate in the Canadian Federation of Agriculture. She has also served on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association for four years. During her term with KAP, Yvonne has been involved in all aspects of implementing policy as well as managing the Winnipeg office. Her main areas of interest include business risk management, environment, trade, and taxation. |
